1. Christmas Tree Decorating Party

Invite people over to help you decorate your Christmas tree. You could ask everyone to bring an ornament for the Christmas tree. A fun party activity would be to get your guests to sign their ornament with their name and date and you’ll have lovely keepsakes for years to come.

2. Local Christmas Lights Party

Invite your neighbours over for a buffet feast, or cook up a giant pot of curry or soup. Then all wrap up warm and go walking/driving around your local neighbourhood looking at the Christmas lights adorning the houses and streets.

3. Christmas Pot Luck Party

For a Christmas pot luck party, ask everyone, or every couple, to bring a dinner dish each (such as a main, salad, dessert) and all dig in together and marvel at each other’s cooking prowess.

4. Group Theatre Trip

Organise a group theatre trip this Christmas with your friends, family, or co-workers. You can make a group booking and usually get a discount. Invite everyone to meet at your house first for a buffet or pot luck dinner then head to the theatre together to watch the panto or ballet. We love to see The Nutcracker every year.

5. Themed Food Party

Another Christmas party ideas is to have a themed food party. Arrange a get-together around a food theme such as pizza, curry, tacos, casseroles, jacket potatoes. Choose a food type that lets people load up or fill from a selection of toppings for extra fun combinations.

6. Gift Box Party

As Christmas is a time for giving, why not organise a party to help the vulnerable and those in need. Invite guests to bring small gift items and makeup shoeboxes of gifts for a local shelter or children’s charity.

7. Gift Wrapping Party

Gift wrapping can be one of the more tedious tasks at Christmastime. You could host a gift wrapping party. Get your friends to come over with some of their gifts to wrap. You could provide interesting and cute ribbons and tags, and enjoy wrapping with company.

8. Christmas Crafts Party

Start off the season with a Christmas crafts party. You could provide the supplies to make Christmas cards, ornaments, gift wraps, or wreaths.

10. Christmas Pub Crawl

Gather your mates together for a warm pot roast or curry before heading out on a Christmas pub crawl in your local area.

11. Winter Hike

If you’re the outdoorsy type bring together a group to go on a picturesque winter walk. You could follow up with hot soup and sandwiches at your place afterwards. Extra points if you have a fireplace to warm up at.

12. Christmas Caroling

For those of the musical persuasion, you could organise a group to carolling around your local area. Or if you’re a little shy you could stay at home and sing carols with your friends. Even better if you have someone to play a guitar or piano to accompany you. Don’t forget to print out the Christmas carol lyrics so you’re all singing from the same hymn sheet!

13. Christmas Movie Night

Host a Christmas movie night for your favourite Christmas movie. We love ‘Elf’, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, and ‘Muppet’s Christmas Carol’. Provide snacks, blankets, and set up your living room cinema-style.

14. Christmas Bake-Off

With a bit more organisation you could host a Christmas Bake-Off competition. Each person bakes something Christmas themed and you hold a secret ballot to decide on the winner. The extra benefit is that there are loads of delicious treats to eat!

15. Christmas Fancy Dress Party

You could pick a Christmas fancy dress theme based around a particular movie or genre. Or go with general Christmas fancy dress. Anyone who dresses up as Christmas Pudding gets a gold star!
